Antique traditional Victorian Scottish kilt brooch in 925 sterling with 3 faceted amethysts of 5mm diameter and 2 green and 1 brown agate.
The back of the brooch is stamped with sterling and an illegible master's mark.

This type of jewellery is often referred to as "Scottish Pebble Jewelry" - so named by Queen Victoria.
Most of these pieces of jewellery were made from intricately carved sterling silver set with Scottish pebbles - also known as agate. These colourful stones were precisely fitted into the jewellery in the form of Celtic knots, shields, crests and daggers.
